The following conversation happened recently. It's completely true and the names have been removed to protect the innocent. The participants will be known as Dad, Mom, Son, and Daughter. NONE of this story has been modified and it happened exactly as you see it here.
Last night Daughter told her brother, "Becky has two babies in her belly."
He said "nuh uh"
She said "Yes she does ask Mommy"
Mommy said "Yes she does". He said "does she know?"
Dad said "Actually no...so don't tell her."
The Son responded, "Well then we should have a surprise birthday party."
Dad said "yes...that's what we'll do...we'll have it right here in this restaurant...a surprise birthday party for Becky's babies that she doesn't know about."
Later...there was a balloon that had floated to the ceiling and Son said "look..there's a balloon up there and it says happy birthday."
Dad said "We should get it and save it for the surprise party."
Mom: "I guess we would have to invite her and she would have the babies (unknown to her) then when they came out we would all yell 'SURPRISE!' "
